Homemade Silver Cleaner

For a homemade silver cleaner, you will need the following items:

  1. 1 piece aluminum foil (big enough to cover the bottom of the cleaning container)
  2. 1 to 2 tablespoons baking soda
  3. 2 quarts very hot water

Follow the instructions below:

  1. Lay the aluminum foil along the bottom of a plastic or glass container.
  2. Place the tarnished silver on top.
  3. Sprinkle the silver with baking soda, and cover it with very hot water.
  4. Soak until bubbles stop.
  5. Rinse and polish the silver with a soft cloth.

The homemade silver cleaner removes tarnish uniformly. J&B recomends to avoid using it with antique or intricately patterned silver.
