•Sit upright in your chair.
•Before sitting down, look to make sure your chair is beneath you.
•If you have to carry things from one place to another, stack them up in a way where you are able to see directly in front of you. When carrying boxes, use the elevator if available.
•Walk slowly if the floor is wet or slippery.
•Don’t read while walking.
•Hold the handrail when using stairs.
•Only open one drawer in a file cabinet at a time to prevent from tipping over.
•Close desk or file cabinet drawers before walking away so others don’t walk into them.
•When stocking supplies, place heavier items in the lower drawers or shelves.
•Immediately wipe up spilled beverages, water tracks by wet shoes or drippings from umbrellas.
•Keep the floors and aisles clear of electrical cords.
•Use surge protectors and cable ties to manage the wiring.
Keeping these few tips in mind can help prevent accidents from occurring throughout this year. So be careful and stay safe.
